Minority Women Pursuing Law Alumni
This page is dedicated to former MWPL members and founders.  As you can see, many of our members have graduated and have pursued law school or successful careers.
Lizette Montiel: Lizette Montiel graduated from the University of Texas in December 2004 with a B.S. in Political Communications.  She worked at the State Capital for State Representative Richard Raymond (D-Laredo) during the 79th Legislative Session.  Lizette is now working for Representative Raymond as District Director in the Laredo, TX  office. Her future plans include law school and continuing a career in politics or public policy. Lizette was the MWPL founder and served on the MWPL Executive Board.
Clarissa Trevino: Clarissa Trevino graduated from the University of Texas in 2004 with a B.S. in Applied Learning and Development. She is now a first year law student at Texas Wesleyan Law School in Fort Worth, TX and also works as a full time  Pre-school teacher. Clarissa is a former MWPL member.
Aurora Martinez: Aurora Martinez graduated from UT in 2004 with a B.A. in Government.  She is currently a second year law student at the University of Texas Law School and will graduate this May.  She plans to continue working in Austin.
Elysia Figueroa: Elysia Figueroa graduated from UT in May 2005 with a B.S. in Corporate Communications and a Certifcate in Business Foundations. She currently works for the Sanford Corporation in Miami, Florida as a Field Marketing Representative in the Phoenix Program. Elysia will soon be training new Field Marketing Representatives and plans on continuing her corporate career.  Elysia is a MWPL Founder and served as MWPL President in 2005.
Felicia Scroggins: Felicia Scroggins graduated from the University of Texas in May 2005. She is currently a first year law student at Suffolk University Law School in Boston, Massachusetts. Felicia served as MWPL Secretary in 2005.
Iris Guerra: Iris Guerra graduated fro UT in May 2005. She currently is first year law student at SMU Dedman School of Law.  Iris served as the MWPL Treasurer in 2005.
