Welcome![]() Alpha Lambda Delta (ALD) at UTPA is an Honor Society for students who wish to become active in campus life as well as conscientious members of society. The Society promotes scholarship and citizenship in the early years of college, reaching out to those who will become the leaders of tomorrow. Alpha Lambda Delta is not greek life, although it does promote service and community awareness. Alpha Lambda Delta was founded in 1924 by the Dean of Women, Maria Leonard, at the University of Illinois. Since then it has grown to have many chapters all across the United States. Its members are active college students who share in the vision of Alpha Lambda Delta: To encourage superior academic achievement, to promote intelligent living and a continued high standard of learning, and to assist students in recognizing and developing meaningful goals for their unique roles in society. The Alpha Lambda Delta chapter at UTPA exists to live up to this vision.
