October 6, 2008

Introductions and Overview
Attendees were Ollis, Amy, Virginia, Ruth, Kim, and Mary

Financials

Chapter dues are normally due in October but Ollis said that he needs to fill out the form because they have reduced the number of members to six to qualify for no fee. Also, CUUPS National now wants a letter from the minister or the Board of Trustees expressing their support. For 2008, we've brought approximately $2807.27 and our goal was $1500 for the year, so we're doing well. The Masquerade ball has a separate budget, but CUUPS will still get credit for the money raised.

Buildings and Grounds

Normally the 2nd Saturday every month, 9 am. Come and help keep up the church! Inside and outside jobs are always availible. There is a blog under "About Us" at http://www.uutampa.org that lists things that need to be done. Also, this coming Saturday will be a chance to prep the grounds before Witches Masquerade.

Anyone who has gardening experience is welcome to help weed the herb garden. Please be aware many herbs look like weeds.

Witches Masquerade Planning Meeting is on October 12th after church.

Help is still needed to put up the village set the day before, as well as many other smaller jobs (such as running the bookstore, manning flower carts, baking treats for the sweet shop, and to help provide relief for other stations). Contact Mary to volunteer at gldnpuma@earthlink.net.

New Business

Brief safety updates were given based on recent events occurring at the church. Please be cautious if you are on the property by yourself. If you notice something strange on property, please contact a member of the church. Jamie is willing to provide her contact information if you need it. The suggestion was made to have a police presence at Masquerade, especially during ritual.

Interweave is talking about a spring fundraiser with a Carnival theme.

Concert: CUUPS will be doing a concert with Skinny White Chick on January 16, 2009. Chris will put together flyers. The cost will be 1/2 of the door and the sale of cd's and will need to be approved by the BOT - preliminary agreement has been done but it needs to be officially blessed since all funds are not going to the church. Chris will put together flyers.

CUUPS officers will meet for elections and announced at the November meeting.
