School this year will once again concentrate on teaching: skills, mechanics, philosophies, pitching, infield, outfield and catching.

Coaches at the Vermont Baseball School are the best baseball instructors in the area with years of experience working with all ages of young athletes. Each day these quality instructors will be working closely with the campers applying proper skills taught in a controlled game situation. Each participant will receive a Vermont Baseball shirt with trophies and special prizes for recognition in different areas of the game.

Insurance Coverage for accidents and sickness must be assumed by the Camper's family policy. The Vermont Baseball School will provide all equipment except shoes and gloves.

The Vermont Baseball School has provided valuable knowledge and enthusiasm to young players over the past 14 years. These schools help tremendously with the integral steps in teaching young ethusiastic athletes knowledge to compete at the next baseball level.

The Vermont Baseball Schools remain one of the best in New England for the cost. The turnout has been full and popular in the past. Registration will be on a first come, first served basis!

COACHING STAFF:

DIRECTOR - BILL CURRIER - Now in his 14th year as Head Baseball coach at the University of Vermont. In 1992 he was voted New England Division I Coach of the Year and guided the Baseball Cats to a school record 28 wins. He has 15 years experience directing baseball schools for ages 8-18 years old. Former University of Vermont player and professional baseball player with the Philadelphia Phillies.

SCOTT JENKINS - In his second season as an Assistant Baseball coach at the University of Vermont. Scott played his collegiate career at Texas Christian Unviersity, and professionally with the KC Rolays. Scott also served as the pitching coach for the Lubbock Crickets of the Texas Louisiana Professional Baseball League.

ED HOCKENBURY - Former Assistant coach for the UVM baseball program, now Athletic Director at Essex Junction High School. Three years starting catcher and graduate of Princeton University. One year experience in professional baseball with the California Angels.

STEVE FERREIRA- Head Baseball coach at Essex Junction High School. Steve guided the Hornets '92 season to a dominating run in the tough Metro Conference and the State Div. I Championship. He has been a leader in Vermont High School baseball and a teacher of the game for over 25 years.

DON PICARD - Head Baseball coach at South Burlington High School. Former professional baseball player with the St. Louis Cardinals. Graduate of Lyndon State College. Ex-pitching coach at the Unversity of Vermont for 8 seasons.

JEFF STETSON - In his 19th season as Head Baseball coach at Mt. Abraham Union High School. In '97 he guided the Eagles to the State Div. II semi-finals. Current President of the Vermont High School Coaches Association. Now an experienced teacher in the Vermont Baseball School family.

JEFF GREENE - Former professional baseball player with the L.A. Dodgers. He was also a past standout baseball player with the University of Vermont program. Tremendous motivator with the young kids in developing skills and enthusiasm for the game.


Also - UVM or Ex-UVM baseball standouts, as well as other area High School baseball coaches.
