| Minutes Sept 18, 2002 12:30-1:30 p.m. First Official Meeting Minutes taken by Marc Ducusin "Let's start at the very beginning, a very good place to start. . ." [Subtitle: "How Many Exclamation Points Before One Crosses the Bounds of Good Taste?"] -go-around & introductions -- colossal WELCOME to all newcomers! Sincerely hope we didn't frighten you too much. -email addresses collected for Yahoo! Group mailing list -agenda for the year outlined -Eireann: generous publishers are donating books to us! (slated to arrive today) -detailed explanation of October's book/bake sale;how to combat the Book-Man? -request made for literary "fortunes" (please start bringing them next week) -sign-ups: book/bake sale volunteering, poster-making, sheet for acquiring Association status (enough signatures easily obtained -- whew!) -Poster-making session: next Tues. (Sept. 24) @ 4pm;meet in Common Room & then adjourn to Bulman Centre -Erica: pressing financial concerns; we owe the government $179.59! (Collective gasp) Dismay sweeps the room, engulfing all in its rampant flames; our righteous outrage thus ignited, we resolve to contact James! [rhyme wholly unintentional] -2nd go-around, somewhat more personal in nature; Conrad poses freighted queries, provoking profound unease in Kristian & others -business completed (for once) in record time! -After meeting (@3:30): 3 (count 'em!) boxes of books arrive, in lieu of the anticipated 2; ecstatic/ebullient/orgasmic thank you to Rorie Bruce from Kate Walker & Company Ltd. for delivering, and to Geza for helping carry boxes (Marc being too lazy and occupied at the time); Marc, Amanda & Conrad express delight -- both individual and communal -- at our good fortune; "thank you" card most certainly needed! |
