                          ESA Minutes For Wednesday October 10th 2001

5:20 pm    -Question raise of on campus pub? Is this possible? Where it could be?
                What channels could we go through? What would be needed for this to be
                done?
5:25 pm    -Discussion of web site and links.
5:27 pm    - Question raise of increased structure in meetings, and inventory/assessment of
                last years ESA group stuff. Questions raised and objectives for next meeting
                regarding

1.    Which books do we already have for book sale?
2.    Who has access to ESA account, and who should be in charge of banking this year?
3.    Have we distributed the textbooks bought last year for school?
4.    have funds been given to schools, as they were promised last year?
5.    Which schools have we already promised support to?
6.     When and what are we doing for literacy?

5:35 pm    -Attendance and membership
5:38 pm    -Logistics of the Book sale decided upon,

1.    It will be between November 5-9
2.     We need to clear this week with security
3.     Advertising for the book sale must begin October 22, to get out word
4.    this space needs to be reserved?
5.     A bake sale should also take place at an adjourning table

5:45 pm     -Discussion of donations for the book sale by professors
5:50 pm    -Suggestion of having a raffle of inexpensive tickets for black box of books
                and prizes
5:52 pm    -discussion of interdisciplinary groups, and decision that this should be
                discussed at a later date when the E.S.A. is more solidified in terms of what it
                stands for and goals
6:00 pm    -Decided that E.S.A. meetings should be fun, and emphasis on importance
                of attracting new members
6:05 pm    -Faculty meetings, how do we get into them? What do we do there? Who
                do we talk to, about it? When do they meet? Who wants to go?
6:06 pm    -Constitution, do we still have one?
6:10 pm    -Round Table: We really need to get together this term and the ESA needs
                to be more organized and deal with internal issues
                We need to use word of mouth to invite more members
                Poetry in the Uniter? How do we do this? (More discussion next meeting)
                We should bring food to the next meeting (agreed)
