The UWA first opened Mid-2001. The fed got off to a great start with the very first event selling over 5 thousand tickets in just half an hour. The excitment grew up towards the first Pay-Per-View when the UWA Arena was full to it's 20,000 capacity. Although the event when well for the wrestling side of things, it was a nightmare for the financial side of the company with the pyros and fireworks costing a million pounds alone. This financial struggle continued week after week until, on 19/11/01, the company had to close down and re-think the financial side of the business.

After a months talks and meetings, the owner, Mr. A. MacKay, picked up the phone to his old friend and wrestling legand, "Hardcore" Harry King. After thinking Mr. MacKay's offer of a partnership over for a few months, King decided to accept, putting most of his fortune into the business along with Mr. MacKay's. Now with alot more needed money in the company's account the UWA was ready for business again. The mercindise went back into production, the arena cleaned, the commercials running on TV and the search for fresh talent begun. The UWA was back, Revolutionised and ready to become the number one name in wresling once again.
