The University Women's Club of North York was founded in 1951 and is a member of the Canadian Federation of University Women (CFUW). Our 250 members are graduates of universities* across Canada and around the world. They represent a wide variety of interests, disciplines and professional achievements.

Through CFUW, our club is linked to the International Federation of University Women (IFUW), a world-wide network of women who bring different perspectives to interests and concerns similar to ours.

UWCNY members share the following objectives:

  • To promote education of women and girls
  • To make new friendships
  • To stimulate study and learning
  • To participate in public affairs and in the community
  • To improve the status of women, human rights and the quality of life
  • To network with members at local, provincial, national and international meetings

We wholeheartedly welcome new members. They enrich our club. In return, we offer a variety of opportunities to learn and grow with us in a stimulating, friendly, intellectual atmosphere. Please join us at one of our monthly meetings.

* Also includes nurses, teachers, physiotherapists and occupational therapists who may not have a degree.
