Things to do... things to see...things to eat...
TEN PLACES TO FEED YOUR FACE

1. Great Dane Pub 123 E DOTY ST: great bar food (try the pub chips and grilled tuna sandwich), great beer… in the summer there’s a beer garden!

2.
Amy’s Café 414 W. Gilman: more great bar food--- a running theme here in Madison. Try the broccoli cheese soup. Sounds gross, tastes good. Also has great salads, and burgers.

3.
Monty's Blue Plate Diner 2089 Atwood Ave: the closest thing to a real diner you'll find in the midwest. Great food, cute atmosphere... good place to get away from the downtown scene.

4.
Pizza de Roma on State St.: in my humble New York opinion- best pizza in Madison. Also, it’s quite the scene at bar time.

5.
Orpheum 216 State St: great restaurant with a café sort of menu… in addition to the restaurant, the Orpheum is a bar, club, movie theater, and live music venue!

6.
Restaurant Magnus 120 E. Wilson St.: you can’t so much afford this place on your JCSC salary, so wait til you have generous visitors (i.e. Mom or Dad)! Really delicious food, great wine list, and live jazz!

7.
Takara: best sushi on State St.! try the lunch special...it's a JCSC favorite!

8.
Chautara 334 State St.: great food- a little expensive, but worth the splurge… authentic dishes from the Himalayan region – foods from Nepal, Tibet and the Indian sub-continent; vegan, vegetarian and non-vegetarian.

9.
Marigold Kitchen   118 S. Pinckney St.: yummy brunch foods… great French toast with fresh berries!

10.
Tutto Pasta Cucina Italiano 107 King St: This Tutto is way better than the one on State St!

CHEESE. One of Wisconsin's many delicacies.....
LIQUID DIVERSIONS
Coffee: Sadly, my favorite coffeeplace in Madison closed in May. Good thing there is no shortage of options- try them all and pick your favorite!

Smoothies: Jamba Juice or Michaelangelos'.

When you need something a little stronger than coffee:
1. Genna’s
2. Great Dane Pub
3. Paul’s Club
4. Opus Lounge
5. Plaza
6. Angelic Brewery
7. Casbah
8. Madison Masala
9. King Club
10.  Anywhere with sidewalk seating when it’s warm… Amy’s Café, the Terrace, Hawks…
The Capital Building in all of its springtime glory!
Places to go...things to do:
Get a bike and go for a ride on the path around Lake Monona, use the Hillel membership number to buy your groceries at the Willy St. Co-Op, sit on the Terrace when it's warm, head to the Farmer's Market on a Saturday morning, catch a movie or dinner or drink at the multifunctional Orpheum, sit out at James Madison Park, head up to Mount Horeb for a trip to the International Mustard Hall of Fame, catch a ride to Door County, walk up and down State St., get a library card at the public library on W. Mifflin St., get tickets to the Wisconsin Film Festival at the end of March, and hope that the winter ends quickly!
