Gemma trains at Charlie Lee Karate in Virginia and first came into the spotlight in 1998 with her team form with her instructor David Moss. Since then she's come into her own in individual competition, staying ranked #1 in weapons and musical forms in 1999 and 2000, and currently first in both for 2001. Gemma has excellent basics and great kicking skills, along with some great tricks. She's an awesome individual competitor, but also great in team divisions, an underappreciated skill. Team Charlie Lee is pretty much the best in the country at team demos and team forms, and a big part of that reason is people like Gemma who can work and perform with others so well.
