The well known Gatso Camera is a speed detecting and recording system comprising a radar and a 35mm photographic camera, the latter synchronised with an electronic flash unit. Vehicles exceeding it are photographed, with details of speed and the vehicle identity. Trials carried out over three years by the Highways Agency in West London, show fatal injuries down by 70%, serious injuries down 28%, slight injuries down 8% and the value of total accident savings is estimated at £20 million per year.

Export Award

In order to promote the export efforts by medium and small-sized enterprises, the Association FME-CWM has established the FME-CWM Export Award.
