| Once it was all dissasembled, i got a tad bit confused with the wiring instructions from Eric's site so i emailed him and called it a day. He got back to me the next day and cleared things up for me so i got back to it. I did all the rewiring as the instructions said, but the harnesses fit was a bit tight. I tried installing the cluster anyways. It didnt work, the wires from the "B" harness were too short. I added about 2 inches to the length of the wires from that harness and was all set. Routing the tach wire was a pain in the ass. I found an unused grommet in the firewall to run my wire. Its located under the master cylinder i believe. I cant remember at this moment. i ran the wire in and couldnt find it in the dash so i got dreative and used this fiber optic style light thing my dad had and ran it through the grommet to locate the wire, then i ran the tach wire. once all the wires were secure, i installed the cluster. Because i used crimp connectors to splice in lengths of wire, the cluster was a ight fit but it went in. I bolted everything up and the time to test it was here. I connected the battery and turned the key, the lights came on, i about jumped for joy, then was time to start it. I started it, the tach jumped up...it worked! Its not too accurate but it works for now. I drove the car around the driveway...the spedo works and seems to be accurate. Then i ran in the house, told my dad about it then called my friend who said it wouldnt work and have been bragging since. |
