Headlight Cleaning
Well, you can see my headlights arnt too clean or shiny. You cant tell how yellow the passanger side light is in this pic. Today i was boored once again and pulled out my lights and cleaned em up. Pulling the lights out was easy, behind the lights on the header panel, there is 4 bolts holding in the headlight assembly, and 2 holding each marker light in. Just pull thoes out, remove the bulbs and you have a car with no headlights. Once i did that i took em into my basement and went in search for a cleaning product that would work good. I found some Meguires cleaning wax. It worked very good with little effort. I used a buffing wheel over the lights about 4 times to be sure the lights would be as clear as possible.

The first time i used windex which cleaned thing out pretty well, but when i had to re-clean my headlights, i decided to use dishwashing fluid. This worked much better. I put a good amount of dish washing fluid in the lights and filled em part way with water, then i shook em like crazy. Then i dumped out the soapy water and went and got the hose. I turned the headlight upside down (lense facing up) and stuck the hose in the bottom and let the water go full pressure, i kept doing this making sure to get as much pressure as possible around the insides of the lenses. Then I dumped them lights and did this again untill there was no more soap suds in the lights.
Now for sealing the lights. I went and found some tub and tile sealer in my basement. It was white but its no biggie. I ran a bead over the seams and kinda rubbed it into the seam and whiped away the excess, then once that cured, i layed another coat over it, this one was quite a bit thicker than the first. Once that cured i ran eletrical tape all the way around the seam that i sealed up, i did that twice. Then went and put em back in the car. Mind you the lights arnt perfect, their 100% better than before.
You can see something in there you couldnt see before...HEADLIGHT BULBS!
