The view downstream towards the bay.  Kampot is a little jewel of a town unspoiled by hordes of tourists, yet easily accessible and convenient.

The view from Blue Mountain Cafe, an American style Coffee and Internet Cafe.

A local fishing village. Across the bridge and down the road. I can walk there from here. Fresh fish daily in the market. Pagoda in the background.

On the boat ride up to the rapids. An easy morning and lunch time jaunt. Swimming, picnicking, chilling.

The view along the right side of the main parkway. It reminds me of a mini San Francisco.

The view of the left side of the main parkway. Recently one of these had a fire. It may be torn down. Others will follow unless there is help. I hope someone will see this and want to make an effort to restore Kampot.

Turn around and this is what you'd see at the end of the main parkway. The old Deco style central market. Abandoned now, but still sound. Notice more French colonial architecture along the right side of the image. The river is a block away at the end of the street.

One block further up the main parkway towards town begins with this nice old French colonial.

One of the really fabulous old wooden Chinese shop houses. Kampot has one of the best selections of architecture I have seen in Cambodia. And one of the best selections of affordable, restorable buildings I have seen anywhere.

Another fine example of an older Khmer wooden house. In the tropics when one says 'wood' one means teak or similar.

Sunrise. Sunset. Just another beautiful day in paradise.

Hey! They made a movie in Kampot! And I was in it! Click HERE to see more.
