Different activities in Ullern 2

We have a cabin in the forest, on a hill called Høgåsen. Every autumn we cut firewood for the entire winter. It is almost impossible to collect firewood during wintertime, because the snow is so deep, and the forest is so dense that you have to be strong in your arms and legs, and be very determined to even think of using a pair of skis.

This is a picture taken inside the cabin. This is Per(with his back turned towards the camera), Tollef to the left, and Eirik to the right.

This is Kristoffer, he has won the great prize, to carry the garbage bag down from the cabin.

This is a picture taken on the annual "RUSKEN". One day each spring, scouts from Oslo deliver plasic bags to people going for a walk in the forest, asking them to collect the garbage they find on their way. The scouts themselves clean up at the parking lot. The picture is taken the 19th of May this year. It had been snowing that morning, and it was cold. Luckily Torunn came by with her car, so that we could sit in there for a couple of minutes and get some warmth back.

In 1996 we joined two other troops and had a camp at Kløftefoss, a little place a couple of hours drive from Oslo. Kløftefoss is actually a station on a veteran railroadtrack. As you might guess, we had a lot of activities related to the railroad. One of the activities, was to make a camp-shower for the patrol. In this picture, you can see some scouts making a net for the plastic bag. (for the water)

Another activity was to make our own soap. The picture shows Heidi and Julie.

In 1997 we were on the national camp at Austrått.

The summer of 1998 we went on a trip to Sweden. We put up our tents on rafts, and drifted on the Klara river for 100 km. We stopped several times to buy food (and sweets), to sleep, make and eat dinner, look for beavers and so on. It took us about a week.
