Children: Sara Ann, md ? TAYLOR, then William HENSON Mary Jane, md Asa Benjamin ROSS William Hugh, md Theodocia Ernest (Docia) BROWN Thomas was born in Chambers Co, AL. Then the family moved to Jasper Co, MS where he lived and married. Mary Jane was the daughter of Hugh BUFKIN and also a sister to Lanie BUFKIN who married William Samuel RUFFIN, a nephew of Thomas. Thomas raised his family in Jasper Co until the outbreak of the Civil War. Thomas joined the Jasper Co Guard's under Capt A F DANTZLER, 21 Apr 1862, in Company K 37 MS Regt Volunteer. Thomas was listed in Hospital in May and June of 1862. He was listed as Pvt when he died 19 July 1862. He was listed in Camp Whitfield near Columbus MS and died in Hospital in Jackson, MS. Thomas' body was brought back home and is buried on the old farm East of Stringer MS. Lanie BUFKIN and William Samuel RUFFIN daughter still owns the land today. After Thomas' death Mary Jane married Daniel Ben GRANTHAM and moved to Covington Co, MS where she lived until her death. Thomas' & Mary Jane's children: Sara Ann married and lived in Simpson and Rankin Counties until her death. Mary Jane married & lived in Ranikin County area until her death.
