Tancreds Landing is always happy to welcome new slaves if they are willing to study hard and learn the ways of Gor. If you're willing do so, your hard work will be well rewarded. If you do not, you would be better off looking elsewhere to for a Home. Slaves are not coddled here in the Landing. The Free will decide if and when they wish to spend time with a slave. Landing slaves will not dictate to a Free when and if they spend time with them or for how long. Attention from the Free is a privilege not a right. Slaves have no rights except those given to them by their Owner.
By law, slaves are animals and their Owner can do anything they wish with them. Slaves are considered to be goods or property. A slave does not even own their name and cannot own any property. They may use goods but cannot possess them. There are numerous laws preventing slaves from doing many things. For example, it may be a capital offense for a slave to touch a weapon without permission, strike a Free person or even to wear robes of concealment unless ordered otherwise.
Slaves must address all Free as Jarl, Master or Mistress. They may address only their Owner as "my Jarl, my Master or my Mistress." Slaves are seldom permitted, at least publicly, to address any Jarl/Master/Mistress by name. The privilege of using a Free person's name is reserved for the Free. Kajirae may in speaking with others, utter the name of the Free for explanation purposes only. For example, they may use Their name to tell others the identity of their Owner or to clarify which Free they are speaking about, but a slave must always preface it with Jarl, Master or Mistress.
It will be the responsibility of the High Jarl and the trainer(s) to oversee the training of all slaves. All slaves seeking a Tancred's Landing collar will be placed in a city collar {TL}. The training will normally consist of a minimum of one week r/t time. At that time, you will be tested to see what you know, not only about the Landing but also of Gor in general.
Above all else, the most important thing for a slave to understand is their primary duties are absolute obedience and exquisite beauty. Have fun and enjoy your time in the Landing, The Free expect you act accordingly, but wish you to enjoy your time at home as well. Chores and serving can be an oppoturne time to add flair to your existence in the Landing, yet it can also be a way to shine and attract the attentions of the Free.
For those with former online D/s experience: Gor is Gor, it is not BDSM. Upon Gor, there is no such thing as a "brat" or "paddle me, daddy" girl. Bratty, whiny slaves will not be tolerated. They will suffer strict Gorean punishment for their actions, up to and including being tied up and fed to the hungry Gorean wildlife which lurks outside the Landing.
A slave is a slave, and a Free Person is a Free Person. Make your choice wisely when you first arrive on Gor and act accoringly. In the world of Gor one does not often switch back and forth. Do so and you will both lose respect and wind up being ignored or scoffed at.
Choose your persona and stick with it. While you might think it is cute to run around pretending to be several different persons or roles, it is not. Goreans will not tolerate such irresponsible activity, nor dualling.
Often times there may be few Free and many slaves in the Landing, which results in a lot of slaves who have no one to serve. If this is so, find ways to make yourself useful. Remember, just when you think no one is watching, they are. You may do chores, practice dancing, exploring your home, cooking, etc. If a Free person enters the Landing, stop what you are doing, find your way through roleplay to that free, greet and offer service. In addition, one does not just sit on the furs silently awaiting a call to service. Greet immediately upon entering the Landing, but do not pester each Free and beg to serve, or stand up and loudly ask if Anyone needs service. This does not constitute pleasing behavior.
Slaves are allowed, even expected, to have fun in their home. This includes engaging in pleasant conversation with Free persons and other slaves; still, a wise slave knows when to shut up, and weighs each remark carefully, least they be found displeasing.
If it has a capped name, it's a Free person. Behave appropriately. If you are given an instruction which you do not understand or feel is inappropriate, ask for clarification. If ordered to do something which you feel to be unlawful, tell a Free of the landing and ask for help, if no Free are in the City save the posts and x out, send the posts to the High Jarl's email.
You may be approached in a coercive manner by Those who wish to fur, the slaves of the Landing are available for use by any Free of the Landing or Those listed as Honored Guests. Permission must be received from your Owner prior to your use by any Other.
1. Slaves have "no" possessions or rights. They are permitted nothing that is not given or allowed to them by the Landing Free or their Owner. A slave must realize any and all things can be taken from them, including their name. A slave must always ask permission to keep, eat, wear or use anything given to them. Slaves do not cry, whine, complain or by any means throw a temper tantrum. It reflects badly on their Owner and the Landing. Absolute obedience and exquisite beauty govern your existance, all other things fall under this. Unruly, disobedient and otherwise distruptive slaves are unwelcome. The Landing has a zero tolerance.
2. A Free may not always be right, but by definition, they are never wrong. In any disagreement a slave always has the last words, they are "Yes Jarl. Yes Master or Yes Mistress" but be careful how you use these. The Free know when a slave is being patronizing and you will be punished accordingly. Respect is first and foremost in your life, whether you believe it to be warranted or not.
3. Stay away from gossip. A slaves opinions are owned by the Landing or their Owner, and if they wish it, they will ask for it. Slaves will not interfere or concern themselves with the matters of the Free. If it does not involve you or your opinion directly and you were not asked for then stay out of it.
4. Slaves will refer to all Free Men as "Jarl", "Master" and all Free Women as "Mistress". Any post to a free person, on the boards or in the room will no less than once include Jarl, Master or Mistress.. If Gender is unknown at arrival, greet them as Master until corrected. At no time will a slave address a free by name unless refering to them while speaking with another.
5. It is the preference of the Landing to use first person speach, however if a slave is more comforable with third it will be accepted. The Landing also reserves the right to punish a slave and force the third person speach to further learn their place.
6. Landing slaves should never be idle and should always remain busy. After greeting and offering serve, a slave will begin chores unless told other wise by a Free. Lazy kajirae will not be tolerated. Chores are the backbone of how the Landing functions, meals do not prepare themselves, cleaning is not done by elves and the animals are not tended to by NPCs. If a kajirae is called to serve or a new Free enters they will stop the chores they are doing and immediately, offer service and finish the chore once when they have been released. A slave will offer to serve all in the Landing, no matter his/her feelings about said Free. A visiting Free will be offered service after a Free of the Landing has acknowledged them. Be realistic as possible, if you're mucking the pens, wash your hands.
7. Upon entering the Landing, if the High Jarl is present, a slave will present and greet him first. After greeting and offer of service, a slave will then beg to greet others in the Landing. This request may be granted or denied. If granted, a slave will - unless if they are at the feet of a Free - move themselves to the serving furs and greet those within the home.
8. A slave will not greet a visiting Free until they are acknowledged by a member of the Landing. This is for the slave's protection. Slaves must ask for permission to PM any Free person, of the Landing or not. Slaves are not permited to pm Visiting Free without the permission of a Landing Member. If a Visiting Free pm's a slave, the slave will bring the post to the attention of a Landing Free and allow that member to handle it. If a slave is serving, they will not greet or acknowledge any pms until the serve is completed. A slave's sole attention will be on the Free being served until released.
9. A slave purchase or service should not be discussed, this is the matter of the Free. If purchase is offered, all slave's will refer the inquiring Free to their Owner or a Landing member unless otherwise stated by the Ubar. If and when Landing slaves are offered to Visitors for sexual service at a fee, price will be conveyed to the slaves to inturn.
10. Landing slaves do not backpack around Gor. The only time they are permitted to travel outside the Landing is with permission of their Owner and escort by a Free of the Landing. Any slave that is going to be away from the Landing for an extended period of time due to r/t will they will post it to the Landing boards so that any and all will know. Slaves that have not posted that they've been pulled away will be considered runaway after a two hand time. NO slave will ever travel with an NPC escort.
11. Jealousy and possessiveness have no place in a slave's life. Squabbles between slaves will be dealt with by the Ubar or the first girl. It is in your best interest to bring it to the attention of the first girl, if it escalates to where the Ubar must get involved, be willing to pay the consequence.
12. All serves, dance, healing care, chores and communication will be from a slave's own belly, not that of another slave. We are all our own person, unique in our own right, it is considered lying and stealing when taking from another slave's hard work and will not be tolerated.
13. A slave should spend as much time as they can in the Landing. Visitors will not come to an empty home. Your presence may encourage others to come in. If a slave is alone, it is a good time for chores. It will be appreciated by the Free and show the devotion to the slave's Home and collar. Slaves are required to beg permission to leave. If no Free is about or ghosting, permission may be sought from the first girl. A slave will ask three times for permission to leave *at least one minute apart*. The slave may then go. The Landing clearly understands emergencies and failures of internet connections, however this becomes habit or a slave leaves without permission, be prepared to pay the price.
14. Slaves are not permitted to handle money. It will be taken in your mouth and given to the slave's Owner. If the Owner is not there, the monies should be placed upon the Free's furs or Ubar's coffer. The slave will tell their Owner of it upon their arrival.
15. A slave may never touch weapons, or anything sharp that might be mistaken for a weapon. A slave must get permission to use such items from a Free each time (the exception to this the use of an ulo in the servery). When tending chores, you may seek permission from an NPC guard or Free. A slave killing themselves is not accepted in this Home, the killing will be ruled invalid. Any slave that raises a weapon to a Free will find themselves on the wrong side of the Cities of Dust.
16. If an uncollared slave enters the Landing, welcome them. Offer to answer questions in public or PM. Offer the address of the Landing's website.
17. Leave real time issues outside of the Landing. Make sure you are capable of smiling and serving when you are there. Always receive permission to ghost/afk… and if a slave will be gone for longer then just a few minutes, then ask permission to leave, returning when you can.
18. Any inappropriate behavior will be grounds for discipline. OOC posts, thought posts or any other non verbal post will NOT be used to behave in a manner that would be otherwise unacceptable. Any slave caught doing this will be severly punished. Remember, this is roleplay and should be fun, there is no reason you should be bored or unhappy, you get out of roleplay exactly what you put into it.
19. Slaves, upon entry should review at least the last 10 backposts to see what is happening within their home, roleplaying then, realistically. If you are exiting the slave pens, you're really not going to know who is in the bath house or in the Tavern. If you are already in the Landing and someone enters be it slave or free, do not greet immediately. Allow them to make their first post so that you know where they wish to start their roleplay. If they're flying in on Tarn back you certainly couldn't greet them.
