Favourites Fly Again (updated 16 nov 03)

The list of returning series both old and not-so-old continues to grow as networks discover what was old is now new again!

Million Dollar Man [US]- switching tone from action/drama to a satirical comedy with Jim Carrey rumoured to star as the bionic man in this big screen remake!

Dark Shadows [US]- the 1966-71 vampire soap-opera which was once resurrected in 1990 starring  Ben Cross, is set for a return courtesy of the WB network. The original producer is said to be working with writer John Wells (ER, West Wing) for a possible 2004-05 prime time slot!

Firefly [US]- Joss Whedon's award winning and
recently cancelled tale of a lone troupe  fighting
the valient fight in the outer reaches of space is
to return both on DVD and the big screen,
possibly with the entire cast!

Dr. Who
[UK]- In development hell for over 10 years, BBC has announced a return of the famous time-lord not seen since '89, sometime possibly in 2005. UPDATE: Rumours abound that BBC is desperate to land Rowan Atkinson (Mr. Bean) as  the new Doctor!

Blake's 7
[UK]- BBC's cult favourite of a
lone troupe valiently fighting an evil
empire in the outer reaches of space
(trust me- this one's very different
from the above Firefly!) is slated to
make its return to British airwaves
with at least one returning character.

Update: it appears the character of
AVON will not be returning after all
due to "creative differences
"

Battlestar Galactica [US]-  The highly
anticipated show about daggits
and hippee hair-do's gets a much
needed update as it returns this
December! (check local listings)
Fans will be closely  watching as
dear characters such  as Starbuck
gets a sex change, the tin cylons
now have skin coverings in the quise of super-models with the rag-tag humans again seeking the 13th colony known as Earth.

Logan's Run
[US]- That terrific 70's movie starring Michael York, Jenny Agutter and Peter Ustinov about a society of the future where at the age of 30 all must partake in
carousel- a ritual in which all believe
lies ressurrection and renewal.
Yet for a few who choose to run
seeking a mythical sanctuary, it
becomes a race against those who
hunt them down. Rumoured to yet
again be in the running for an update!

More coming soon...
