Tradition
Ever since the school was built there has always been a fierce rivalry between two sides of the school. The Tenshi's who wear white uniforms and Akuma who wear black. For as long as students could remember these groups of students have always been enemies. Every student who ever came to Penguin Academy were forced to pick a side. Those who didnt were hunted down and hazed by everyone in the school till they did. No one really has anything against eachother, it's just that he's an Akuma and she's a Tenshi, so it's only natural to them that they would hate eachother. The war between 'Light and Darkness' as they call it was all started ironically by two friends, generations and generations ago.
It's said two boys were once the best of friends, when the school was at peace and there was no fighting. One was the intellectual, idol of the school. The other a tough rebel. Two unlikely people, bestfriends since they were children but sadly their friendship shattered as an argument broke out between the two. No one can remember what is was exactly about. Some say it was about one of them breaking a promise, others a girl. Whatever it was, it changed their lives and the entire school, creating a year round tradition of war. The two friends formed into the groups you now know as Akuma and Tenshi, hazing eachother and getting others to join their side. Soon it was an all out war that seperated the school and has been carried on for years.
The goal for both groups is to ultimately drive the other out of existence and run the school how they seem fit. Who will win? No one knew but the war went on, as year after year passed.
Finally as the fighting reached its peak a lone figure stands in the gates of the Academy, papers in hand and an expression that just screamed 'I'm new!'
And there is where our story begins...
Hina stood mesmerized at how huge the school was. 'Uwah...so big!' Walking through the towering gates she admired all the statues and gardens she saw on her way to the office. Though the school was beautiful she couldn't help but notice how all the students she passed, stared at her so strangly. 'How rude! It's like I'm an alien...' Quickening her steps she soon made it to her destination but unsettled by all the eyes that were on her.
"And that there is the gymnasium." Hina nodded as the teacher droned on about what the school had to offer and where this and that was located. Suddenly as they rounded the corner, shouts and banging could be heard. "You bastard! Dirty Akuma! You aren't worthy of the air I breathe!"
'Nani?' Hina watched shocked, as two students dressed in white uniforms pinned a boy in black to a wall. "This is what you get for putting bugs in our leaders lunch! What a dumb trick!" The boy in white pushed his victim harder, kicking him as he did so.
The boy being pinned, growled and spit at the other two, thrashing to get free. "You stupid Tenshi! You think you're so much better then us! Well the Akuma will rule this school! You just wait! My leader will avenge me!" Angry the Tenshi slapped him, before dropping the other boy to the ground. "How dare you...you...Akuma!" As he shouted three more boys in black appeared holding what seemed to be paint guns. "Back off you rotten Tenshi!"
Not being able to take anymore Hina jumped in the middle of the shouting students as the teacher freaked out as she did so. "Iee!!! Stop! What are you doing to your fellow classmates? How cruel!" She glared at all of them as they looked at her as if she were stupid. "It seems...freshmeat."
"Eh?" Hina backed up as the boys suddenly put all their attention onto her. "So what have you chosen?"
"An Akuma?"
"Tenshi?"
"EH?!" Hina muttered, as the students closed in. "Wh...what are you talking about?!" She started to get irritated as they glared, waiting for an answer. "I'm...I'm neither!"
"Not for long..." The boy in white muttered as he started to walk away. The others also left, the same thoughts in their heads. "Nani...?" Hina sunk to her knees as the teacher rushed up to her. "Baka! You shouldn't interfere!"
"What?!" Angry now she glared at the man. "Why didn't you help stop them?!" Sighing he rubbed his head, frustrated at the girl. "Because it would be useless and just get the teachers hazed too."
"Hazed?" she listened intently as sensei explained the schools situation, etc...ten minutes later...
"That's Stupid!!!!!!!" Hina jumped up in disbelief, fuming. "How can people be so cruel to eachother!?"
The teacher nodded sympathetically. "It's a tradition."
"Well its a stupid one!" Wheels working in her head, she tried to think of a way to stop the madness.
"So what side will you choose?"
::Ding:: she had an idea. "Neither!!!"
"Baka! You'll just get hazed!"
"This is a stupid tradition and I won't stand around and let it just happen like everyone else! I'm going to do something about! I'll be...be a...a Human! That's it! I'm gonna be nuetral!"
Posing Hina stood defiant as the teacher backed away sweatdropping. "I'm a Human! I'll Never choose to be an Akuma or Tenshi!" The students around her stopped in their tracks, all shocked and murmuring about trouble.
"Watch out Penguin Academy! The Revolution is coming!"
