Fauquier Court House Chapter
Chartered April 22, 1982

Warrenton, Virginia

Fauquier Court House was chosen as the chapter name for its significance as the name of the crossroads settlement at the intersection of the old Winchester-Falmouth Road with the post road from Charlottesville to Alexandria, where the court house of the newly formed county of Fauquier was to be located in May 1759.

This thriving settlement was located almost at the exact center of the county and kept its original name until 1810 when the town was incorporated and became Warrenton in honor of General Joseph Warren of Revolutionary fame.
