August - Sleepover (at home with us)

September - October
Visiting Troop # 1426 in Fredrick, Maryland
Hokie arrived in Maryland and was cared for by Troop # 1426.  We hosted their mascot "BUZZ" the bumble bee, who arrived on Sept 6th.  Hokie worked on his 'Girl Scout Ways' Try-It while in MD.  While "BUZZ" was visiting us, he also worked on his "GSW", the "VA State" and started his "Colors and Shapes" Try-Its.  He went to Explore Park and the Pumpkin Patch as well as the school fun fest carnival.

Home with Troop
You know, some troops have hippo mascots, some have camels.  I have even
seen some have monkeys and lions.  Well our Troop has just adopted "Hokie"
who just happens to be a TURKEY.

Why you may ask - "A Turkey?"..... Well, we are a part of the VA Skyline Council which is in the Southeastern part of VA.  Our school is about 15 minutes from the campus of VA Tech - which is the home of the "Hokies".

Our Hokie has already been to camp day, gone to a movie and to lunch.  He had a busy year last year,
but is ready to begin his adventures this year.

He is scheduled to stay with the troop until January of 2001 to keep our visiting mascots company.

We are looking forward to hosting other mascots and learning from Hokie what other troops will
be teaching him while he is away.  We will be updating this page as he returns with things of
interest, so please check back often.

(PSST:  He like cookies, so watch the stash)
HEY YOU!
I am hungry.  Do you have any Thin Mints?
That's how many cookies I
can eat in an hour.
