Yellow Stone National Park, Wyoming Early morning at 4 a.m. we started and reached Yellow Stone by 12 noon, covering a dintance of 500 kms. On the way, we had a good view of the Grand Teton mountain range from various angles.  At Yellow Stone we put up our tent in  a huge camping ground on a slot reserved by us. We proceeded to see the lake area and some of the hot spring geysers till the evening. We could spot lots of bisons, mooses and elks which move around freely even in our camping ground, but bears are closely moniteered by the Rangers. At night we attended a class where the Rangers acquainted us the behviour  pattern of the bisons  with lectures and film shows. We could hear the calls of the wild animals and the bisons moving around the camp area. It was quite a frightening experience spread over 3 nights.

The next 2 days, we went around to see other geysers, the main among them are the Old Faithful, which erupts exactly every 34 minutes to a great height. and then the Castle Rock and Mammoth geysers. We also went to Jackson Hole, where we witnessed a mock gun fight staged by cow boys eloping with a girl, all dressed in 18th Century costumes with the police chasing them.

We went to Thermopylae where we took a bath in the tanks filled with water flowing from the geysers. I vividly remember a huge icecream shaped like a boat which I found so difficult to consume. We trekked the Grand Teton from one side and came to the shore on a boat.
