What -IS- Numerology?! |
Alright, right about now most of you are probably wondering "Well, this looks kinda...eh...interesting. But what the heck is it!?" I'll be more than happy to answer that question for you. Numerology is a sort of insightful study that include names, addresses, birth dates and other personal information. These bits of information are changed through a certain sequence from letters into numbers, then added over and over again until they only have a single digit. While there can only be 9 different 'types' or sequences, they're more than enough to give the person a rough idea of what they're asking. Thats another question that comes up, what the heck are theses supposed to stand for? Well, the main two ways these numbers are figured out are through the birth date (called a Life Path number) and a full name, yes that includes the dreaded middle name (Destiny number). The Destiny number can only be figured through the persons -birth given name-, meaning the name on their birth certificate. Also, the Destiny number is told to tell the person about their life purpose, the target you are to be aiming for in life, and your spiritual mission. On the other hand the Life Path number is taken from your entire birthday, month, day and the entire year (e.i. 1984, 2001, whichever). The Life Path number is told to tell the person about just that, the path in life they're to take, as well as the talents and abilities that help you on the way. This is a broad generalization, but in most cases a lot of pagan faiths use this sort of "destiny finding" because along with each number, a color, gem and zodiac sign are in corespondance with it. Because the numbers are each assigned these numbers, many pagan and earth-related faiths take these gems or colors and transfer them into what each color or gem's attributes are. Like if one person gets the number 5, it's color is turquiose, which is known for luck, money and most important, protection, so that person may take it as they are best suited to work with that stone in scribing or other magickal workings. The same goes for the Gems and as well as the signs. Pagans tend to rely on the stars and nature heavily, so since the signs are taken from the stars, they each have their own attributes they have durring certain moon phases and planets assigned to them, along with a certain element (Earth, Fire, Air or Water). These in turn also have their own certain attributes, along with more and more connections such as Yin and yang qualities. Now that I've droned on and on about what each part of the numerology charts and how little information I've actually included compared to what there could be, I hope you have a little better understanding of what numerology really is *Winks*. If not, I'm always up for questions or comments at my E-mail. Until we meet again, everyone, Blessed Be, Have a nice night, Sweet dreams, or G'd day to you if it's not quite night. *waves* -:¦:- -:¦:- ._¸ ..· ´¨¨)) -:¦:- -:¦:- ((¨¨` ·..¸_. ¸.·´ .·´¨¨)) Vaia ((¨¨`·. `·.¸ ((¸¸.·´ ..·´ -:¦:- -:¦:- `·.. `·.¸¸)) -:¦:- -:¦:- |
