I had a celebrity page at one point. It morphed a couple times, and then I had some hiccups with Homestead. Since I know this site doesn't get much traffic anyway, I decided not to do another one for this site, and so refer you to a MUCH better site, whose webmaster has done a phenomenal job. That site would be mixedfolks.com Go to it. It's great. Having said that, I feel that I should share with you all some information and pictures of some of the artists that have helped me to deal with life and it's issues. The first artists that I honour is my family, but I don't have a picture of them to put up. Baba, Amai, Sisi D, naSekuru. You are all my teachers, and I am grateful to be your daughter and sister. Domborembudzi to Milford, I love y'all. |

Helen Folesade Adu Sade is a beautiful soul. She's more than just a singer to me. The entertainment aspect of her work is obvious, and what I value is her honesty, talent and depth. If I ever had a guru in life, Sade would be that person. |

Nicole Lyn She's an actress, most recently seen in the Showtime/ABC adaptation of Anne Rice's "The Feast of All Saints". I loved the miniseries almost as much as the book, and I think Nicole Lyn was incredible in it. Her next movie's a romantic comedy "Deliver Us From Eva". What Nicole signifies to me is that she was a representation of myself on TV that I looked up to when I was in my "oh my God there's no place for me in this f-ed up race world" identity crisis. I think only a fellow outcast can understand what it means to see someone who looks like you somewhat, or at least has a similar background, someone famous or well-known out there doing their thing in a clean, simple and happy way. Nicole was that brown-skinned, curly-haired and beautiful person whose mere presence on the TV screen made me feel even in a litte way, connected and affirmed. |

The Right Honorable Robert Nesta Marley If there was ever a more loved and intelligent social critic, prophet and poet than Bob Marley, I would be very surprised. His music is his soul, and every song I have heard of his is beautful to me. Bob is my guy, regardless of his pot-smoking and many children, he's just gives wonderful advice. ~~emancipate yourself from mental slavery/Only ourselves can free our minds~~ |

Thandiwe Newton She's a great actress, and from the interviews I've read of hers, very honest and funny. I saw Beloved recently, and her performance was stellar. I'll be surprised if she doesn't get an Academy Award in the near future. She's my fellow 50% Shona. Iwe! |
