This is my Public Service Announcement about tattoos. Although tattoos are a significant and sometimes meaningful method of body modification, these are serious times when it comes to blood exchange. If you are considering getting one PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT THE TATTOO ARTIST USES ADEQUATE SAFETY MEASURES. These include using new ink, using a fresh needle(s), wearing latex gloves and using an autoclave to sanitize the equipment. I know of people who have suffered dire consequences because of poor hygiene while tattooing. For the sake of your health, BE AWARE of the risks.
Ohana means "family" in Hawai'i. Watch Lilo and Stitch and you may be enlightened as to why I chose this word to grace my body (right shoulder to be exact). I intend to get an eight-pointed star symbolizing harmony tattooed around it, so more pictures are forthcoming in the not so distant future.
