1. In a food processor, blend until a fine powder:
5 cups rolled oats
8 ounces chocolate chips
Set mixture aside.
2. Cream together:
1 lb. unsalted butter, softened
2 cups sugar
2 cups light brown sugar, packed
Add and combine well:
4 large eggs
2 Tsp. vanilla
3. In another bowl, combine:
4 cups flour
2 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
Gradually beat the flour mixture into butter. Mix thoroughly. Work
24 ounces chocolate chips into the batter.
4. Set 4 cookie sheets out. All the dough will make 48 balls, twice the size the golf balls. (12 per tray)
5. Bake one tray at a time: 11 minutes at 375 degrees. Rotate teh tray halfway through.
6. Cookies will crack and look wet inside--BUT you must take them out of the oven! Let them sit a few minutes on the tray before removing them to cool.
