Drop Biscuits

~~ This basic recipe has been no fail for me as an easy addition to any main meat dish. There are so many ways to spice this up that I have found to be delightful.~~


1 3/4 cups flour

1/2 tsp. salt

3 tsp. baking powder

4-6 Tbs. butter

1 cup milk



1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Cut butter into dry ingredients. Add milk all at once. Stir until moistened. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto baking sheet. Bake for 12-15 minutes.


*** Fun ways to spice up this simple recipe:

* add basil, oregano and parsley
* add garlic powder and shredded cheddar
* substitute 1/2 applesauce for half of the milk and add some cinnamon;or try other favorite fruits(pureed strawberries would be wonderful!)
* add mini chocolate chips
* add any flavor of juice for part of the liquid instead of milk
