Snyder (1992) Serving Size : 4 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Pasta Vegetarian Side Dishes Family Favorites Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 2 teaspoons water 1 cup chopped onions 1 clove garlic -- finely chopped 1 pound stewed tomatoes -- canned 1 teaspoon dried basil 1/8 teaspoon pepper 1/2 cup evaporated skim milk 8 oz. linguine -- uncooked 3 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese Heat large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add water, onions and garlic. Cook 5 minutes, stirring frequently. Add stewed tomatoes, basil, and pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer 10 minutes, uncovered. Stir in milk and continue to simmer 5 more minutes. While sauce is cooking, prepare linguine according to package directions. Drain. Add cooked linguine to tomato mixture, along with Parmesan cheese. Toss until pasta is coated with sauce.
