| GeoArt Students explore geometric concepts by constructing angles and using regular polygons to construct 2-D and 3-D shapes. They create colorful two-dimensional tessellations and print computer tessellations. Students who complete individual assignments work with peers to produce a group project such as string art on wood or a large "space" shape. |
| Math Exploration 2009 -2010 Students use mathematical reasoning while solving multi-step problems. They gain confidence in thinking and communicating mathematically while exploring: calculator math, mathematics in history, positive and negative integers and other pertinent topics. Students acquire algebraic understanding by solving hands-on linear equations. Students will also enjoy creative and recreational math. |

| ! Imagine something better! Imagine the best at St. Elmo! Math Exploration and GeoArt classes are actively engaged in learning activities. Monday and Wednesday classes are doing research and reference about history of math. They are working on hands-on equations. Tuesday, Thursday and Friday classes are completing the first quarter. Your child will take home his/her evaluation and portfolio this week. |
