Once a school bully, now a top ranking duelist. He mostly relies on luck to win duels but he is still a great duelist.
He did at one point bully Yugi but when an even larger bully set his sites on Joey, Yugi stepped up and tried to protect him. Ever since then him and Yugi have been best friends.
Joey is foolish and is not the sharpest tool in the shed, but he has a good heart.
The whole reason Joey took part in duelist kingdom was to help Yugi get his grandpa back and win the prize money (3 mill) for his sisters operation.
Joey has always put himself on the line for his friends and will never back down from a fight, even if it's Seto Kaiba.
