"A New Game?"
Back to Articles
Appearently, for some unknown reason, some odd amount of ironically odd people seem to think that what I have provided in general is not the game of Yu-Gi-Oh!, that what I have made is a completely different game, and that I should make my own game rather than making the "real" game worse. Personally I find that they say that rather ironic since the themselves almost always say that the game is bad enough. Infact, several times I've heard the line "You're making this game even worse than it already is." or "This game is bad enough without your help." on a few occasions. Well to be fair, I made this article. Another benefit of me making this article is that whenever someone brings up that arguement again, I can simply give the the link to this article that way I don't have to waste time with them until they've fully read this page. I personally do not completely understand how I'm making a different game. I've have heard reasons though, though I find them abit lacking...
-The Meta of CCG is Way different from the actual Meta.
-The are different cards in CCG.
-The Decktypes don't even look like actual decks that are in the TCG.

And personally, all of these make me think merely three things:
1. Appearently almost every new format/banlist, the game of Yugioh has more cards, a different Meta, and probabley different decktypes. So every new format the game of Yu-Gi-Oh! becomes an entirely different Game?
2. The reasons the above 3 are true are simple: There are more cards, so there are more choices for your deck, much the same reason there is a different Meta(If there is one at all).
3. The OCG is much the exact same. So is that an completely different Game?

Basically I think what these some odd amount of odd people are trying to say is that switching from TCG(English) to CCG(Custom) is much like switching from "Yu-Gi-Oh!" to "Magic: The Gathering". Its also saying the same about switching from TCG to OCG(Japanese) being like switching from "Yu-Gi-Oh!" to "Poker".

I think in essence, its not a new card game. But rather, a new road in a city.

The City's name was "Yu-Gi-Oh!" and it only had 1 Road that went all the way around but nowhere in the middle you see. And it was named TCG.
Then it was decided, one day, they would add a new Road. One that stretched from the far west to the far east of the city and a Road that stretched from the far north to the far south of the city. Now it would be easier to walk around with your body having such a heavy fee. And the two roads were named OCG.
But the poor townspeople still had such trouble since there were no roads in between to get from one store to another. So it was decided a new road would be made, a road that went from every door to every other door. Now everyone could get around the city, but they distressed still. What to call this new road, the people said.
And a young girl stood up and spoke with a helpful glee.
"I have a dandy Idea, lets call it CCG."
