Part One

Alexis slowly opened her eyes, a little confused as to why she was laying on her couch.  Suddenly everything came rushing back.  She sat up quickly, looking around the room.  "It couldn't have been Ned," she whispered to herself.  She got up from the couch and started for the stairs when she heard what sounded like the running water.  Alexis froze.  She couldn't breathe or think.  She didn’t know what to do.

When she was finally able to get her feet to move, she slowly climbed the stairs, afraid of who she would find.  But deep down she knew it was him.  She opened the door to her bedroom and found clothes lying on the floor and she could hear the shower running.

"Oh God, this can't be happening," she whispered.  But it WAS Ned, who stepped out of the bathroom a few minutes later.  Their eyes locked.  Alexis could only stare at her husband.  She couldn’t believe her eyes.  "Ned?" was all she was able to say.  "Hi Lex," Ned said, as if he had just come home from a day at office, instead of coming back from the dead.  Alexis couldn't believe it.

"OH MY GOD!!" Alexis whispered, as Ned made his way across the room to stand in front of her.  Alexis was afraid.  Not of him but of what this meant.  Her husband was alive!  Zack had his father back!  And suddenly her thoughts were on Jax.

"Oh my God, Jax,"  Alexis just couldn't think.  So many emotions were trying to surface at once.  When Alexis finally found her voice, she looked into the eyes of the man, that had once owned her heart.

"Ned how?  Where have you been?  I saw you go into L&B right before the explosion.  They found a body.."  Ned touched her lips with his fingertip.

"Alexis, I don't remember the accident.  I didn't even know my name until a few weeks ago."

Alexis didn’t know what to say.  She had dreamt this dream so many times but she never thought it would come true.  "Ned, how did you find me, if you couldn’t remember who you were?"

"Even when I didn't know my name, I had your face in my head.  You were in all of my dreams.  Lex, I knew I had to find you because I knew that once I did, I would find myself.  You complete me.  I love you so much and I missed you," Ned said as his lips brushed against hers, causing Alexis to moan.

The kiss was a mixture of passion and longing.  Alexis knew she should pull away from him.  ‘You’re in love with Jax!’  Her mind was screaming at her body to stop.  But she was lost in his kisses and touches.  She had missed him just as much as he had missed her.  Maybe more.  It was then that she realized that she was still in love with him.  "Oh God," she whispered, as Ned’s hands moved further down her body.

Soon her clothes were on the floor and Ned was pushing her down on the bed.  Their eyes locked, as he slowly begin to make love to her.

Jax was jogging along the docks.  It was late, but without Alexis laying next to him, he couldn’t sleep and  he decided to go for a late night run.  He spotted V walking along the docks alone and jogged over to her.

"V, you shouldn’t be out here alone at this time of night.”  Jax could tell that she had been crying.  "V, what’s wrong?"

"It doesn't matter Jax, it’s over." V chocked on another sob as fresh tears started to fall.  Jax took her in his arms and let her cry.  Once she calmed down, he led her to a bench and they sat down.

Do you want to talk about it?” Jax questioned, putting his arm around her shoulders.

“Taggert and I had a fight.  He used me, Jax, to get to Alexis.  I can't  forgive him for that!"

"V, how did Taggert use you to get to Alexis.  I don't understand?"

"He knew that I would tell Alexis about what was happening on the case.  That she was a suspect."  Jax nodded his head in understanding.

"So you went to Alexis and she came to me, which make her look even more guiltily," Jax finished.

"Jax they know you two are together!!" V said.  "It’s just a matter of time before they arrest her for Chloe’s death."

"V, Alexis didn't kill, Chloe and I'm not about to sit around and watch as them pin her death of Alexis.  I won't lose the woman that I love.  Alexis is my life!

Jax and V left the docks and Helena stepped out of the shadows, a wicked smile on her face.  "We'll see about that Mr. Jacks."  Helena dialed a number on her cell phone.

She waited for the recipient to answer.  "I need you to get Mr. Jacks to the gatehouse now.  There’s something he need’s to see!"  She disconnected her phone and pulled a picture from her purse.  Smiling down at the person in the picture, Helena whispered, “I’m doing this for you sweetheart."

Ned was kissing Alexis’ neck.  He pulled back to look into her eyes.  Alexis ran her hand along his chest and noticed Jax's ring on her finger.  She eyes filled with tears.  She couldn’t hurt him like this.  "Ned, I can't do this!!" Alexis said, while pushing Ned off of her and reaching for her robe.

Ned couldn’t understand Alexis’ sudden change.  "Lex, what's wrong?"

Alexis didn't know what or how to tell Ned about Jax.  "Ned, this is all happening so fast.  And there is something I think you should know.

"Lex, can’t whatever it is wait until morning.  I have missed you so much!!"   Ned started placing little biting kisses on her neck and her eyes started to close again.  She almost gave herself over to him, when Jax's face flashed in her mind.

"Ned, don't," Alexis said in a pleading whisper.

Ned looked at his wife, trying to understand why she wasn't as happy to see him as he was to see her.  "Alexis didn’t you miss me?" Ned asked, trying to cover his hurt.

“Of course I missed you.  How could you even doubt that.  I have been grieving you for more than 2 years.  But a lot has happened in those 2 years.  There are things I need to tell you,” Alexis said nervously.

"Like what?" Ned asked, looking into his wife eyes and what he saw in them scared him.

Alexis took Ned’s hand and led him back to the bed.  They sat down and Alexis look into Ned eyes.  "Ned when you died...or when I thought you died, a part of me died with you.  I didn't think I could ever be happy again.  What we had was so special.  I loved you with all of my heart.  And I had given up all hope of ever finding love again...”  Alexis watched as Ned’s face fell in sadness.  Her eyes filled with tears and she couldn't say anymore.

Ned got up from the bed and walked over to the window, not wanting her to see the tears that were forming in his eyes.  He had waited for too long.  She had moved on.

"Who is he, this man that has stolen your heart?" Ned whispered with his back to her.

"Jax," Alexis whispered.

Jax stood outside the gatehouse about to knock when he remember the key she had given him and he decided to use it.  He assumed Alexis would already be asleep, so instead of calling out to her, he made his way to her bedroom.

As he got closer to the bedroom door, he heard voices.  He couldn’t make out what was being said but one of the voices was definitely male.  Jealousy flared in him and he swung the door open.

Alexis and Ned both looked up, as Jax walked into the room.  He took in the scene before him, the clothes strewn about the room and both Ned and Alexis barely dressed.  He wasn’t an idiot, he knew what they had been doing before he walked in.

"Jax,"Alexis whispered.

Jax turned to leave the room.  "Jax, wait.  Let me explain..." Alexis started to say.

"There’s no need to explain, Alexis!" Jax said in a deadly tone.

Jax walked out the door before Alexis could say anymore.  She followed him out of the room.  She had to make him understand.

"Jax!  Jax!!" Alexis yelled after him as walked out of the gatehouse.

"Jax," Alexis whispered his name.
