| Feeling In Love Again by Dani Beth She had made sure that Carly was safely in the Penthouse before going to her own. The discussion, if that's what it could be called, with Ned had left her feeling weakened and angry. Walking in, she dropped her purse on the desk and stood, waiting for something. Feeling like throwing something, she instead started to unbutton her overshirt with shaky fingers. ''I could get used to this.'' She stopped and shot her eyes up, only to remember that she hadn't turned on the light. ''Miss me, Alexis?'' ''Sonny?'' He stepped closer to her. ''Yes?'' ''What in the hell are you doing here?'' she hissed, turning her back to him and going for the light switch. She winced only slightly when the light hit her eyes. ''You do know that your wife...'' ''I came here to see you Alexis, not Carly.'' Something in his voice made her snap. ''So? You came to see me, now go.'' ''It's not that easy.'' ''Tonight, it is,'' Alexis snapped. ''I'm not in the mood and....'' ''And?'' Sonny probbed. ''And nothing,'' she said hastily. ''Just...go Sonny.'' Damn Ned, she groaned inwardly. ' 'You're not even going to question where I've been?'' She let out a humorless laugh. ''You know, I really don't care where you've been right now, okay? If you have to tell me, do so and get out.'' Sonny rubbed his chin and gave a grin. ''I'm not going to leave that easily, Alexis.'' She groaned and tipped her head up to the ceiling. ''Fine.'' Walking past him, she felt his fingers curl around her upper arm. Swallowing hard, she looked into his eyes. ''Yes?'' When he didn't speak, she began to become impatient. ''Listen Sonny, today hasn't exactly been my favorite, okay? First, I had to babysit Carly, which ended up with her and AJ getting into some fight in front of the Quartermaines. Then, then, I had a conversation with Ned and now here I am, wanting to just relax and go to bed so that this day would end. But I can't because one of my clients, who hasn't exactly been cooperative now and in the past, is not letting me do that!'' ''You do know that Johnny is right outside, right?'' Sonny asked, smirking. ''What does that have to do with this?'' ''If he hears you yelling, he might come in here.'' Alexis smirked back. ''Good, that'll mean that he'll drag you away or something and I can go upstairs and take a bath.'' Wrenching her arm free, she went to the couch and starting taking off her shoes. Putting his hands in his pockets, he watched her. Some of her hair was pulled loose and in her eyes. Grinning when she swatted it away in a frustrated manner, he went to sit next to her. ''C'mon 'Lexis, admit it,'' he taunted, twirling a piece of hair. ''Admit what?'' she growled, hitting at his hand. ''Admit that you do want to know where I've been.'' ''Fine.'' Turning to face him, she asked, ''Okay Sonny, where have you been?'' Still playing with her hair, he shook his head. ''Can't tell you.'' Having enough of it, she pulled her arm back and slugged him in the stomach. Pulling his fingers back and putting both hands to his stomach, he glared up at her, ''What was that for!'' ''You were annoying me,'' Alexis told him calmly, standing. She jumped when he got up quickly. In a lower voice, she murmured, ''Please, just leave Sonny.'' ''No.'' ''*******n you!'' she cried, throwing her hands up. ''All I wanted for today was to sit at home and enjoy nothing. Then I went to the picnic, with Carly of all people, and end up seeing Ned. Not exactly...'' ''You've said most of this already Alexis. It's a weak fight, 'cause I'm not going.'' ''Great,'' she said, eyes narrowing. ''And what exactly are you going to do? Watch me take a bath?'' His grin gave away his answer. ''I don't think so.'' Going up the stairs, she sighed. ''What here, I'll be right back.'' ''Oh, don't take your time. Just throw on whatever is closest and come back down.'' Her look made him turn away. ''Or not.'' ~* Coming back down in her pajamas, she sat down and curled up her feet in the chair farthest away from Sonny. ''Why are you here?'' Crossing his arms, he shrugged. ''Just wanted to see you.'' ''Ah, how nice,'' Alexis said through clenched teeth. ''And now that you have, can't you just leave?'' The urgency in her voice wasn't lost to him. ''Is there something wrong?'' ''No,'' she tried, voice strained. ''I'm just...incredibly tired and I want to go to bed.'' ''And miss the fireworks?'' Licking her lips, she blinked lightly. ''And miss the fireworks.'' He stood and went over to her. Kneeling in front of her, Sonny took her fingers and began to massage them. ''You never answered my question.'' ''Which one?'' ''The one where I asked if you missed me.'' She shifted. ''If I say yes, will you leave?'' ''Sorry, doesn't work like that.'' ''Well, damn it...'' Alexis paused and decided to go with the truth. ''Yes, Sonny, I did miss you.'' She cursed herself under her breath. He smiled triumphantly. ''Well, that's what I wanted to hear.'' A little something in her quirked up. ''Really?'' ''Of course.'' He looked closer into her eyes. ''I kinda missed you too, Alexis.'' Her eyes clouded over. ''You 'kinda' missed me!'' He began to laugh a little. Leaning in a little, he brushed his lips over her's. Closing her eyes, Alexis let out a little moan of pleasure. The way that his whiskers brushed across her face was a new feeling that she liked. Slitting her eyes, she took two fingers and went along his face lightly. Going to his hair, he bent in and kissed her again, this time with more urgency. ''Carly,'' she got out when they broke off. ''She's your wife and right across the hall. We...'' His eyes became dark and Sonny grabbed her upper arms. ''I'm only going to say this once, Alexis. I don't love Carly. Maybe in the beginning I did, but I don't anymore.'' Letting his eyes roam over her, Sonny grinned. ''You've always been there. For far more than she has. And I've put it off. You were with Ned. I've been thinking a lot more lately, though, and I can't put it off anymore.'' Her eyes wide, she gasped a little, but let him kiss her again. His tongue brushed lightly over her lips and she opened them to him. Bringing her up to him, he stared at her. ''Tell me that you love me too.'' Alexis opened her mouth, but closed it. Licking her kissed swollen lips, she blinked and saw that his eyes never left her's. The conversation with Ned came crashing back to her. She knew when they were talking that he was right. ''I...'' she stopped. Clearing her throat, she shook her head. Brushing her fingers over his face again, she nodded. ''I love you too.'' The End |
