Chapter 12

Carly stood leaning against the bathroom door, after fleeing the bathroom, her face flushed with embarrassment.  She couldn't believe that she just stood there looking at Ned.  She felt her face growing red again as an image of Ned's nakedness flashed in her mind.  She had to admit, he had a beautiful body.

Ned quickly wrapped the towel around his waist and opened the door.  Carly was still leaning against it and lost her balance, falling against him.

"I'm so sorry.  I'm just so used to being here alone I didn't think to lock the door," Ned explained, trying his best not to look at her chest.

"No, I'm sorry, I should have knocked first.  I just figured your were still at L&B," Carly said, not meeting his eyes.

"I would have been, if Chloe hadn't spilled coffee on me."

"Oh,"  Carly said, feeling uncomfortable.  She wasn't sure why but she really couldn't think when she was looking at his chest.

"I'm finished.  It's all your yours."

"Huh?" Carly asked, meeting his eyes.

"The bathroom," Ned replied, with a smile.

She laughed nervously.  "Right."  Ned stepped aside so she could enter the bathroom.

"How about having dinner with me tonight?" Ned asked, before she closed the door.

"I don't think that would be a good idea."

"Why not?  You have to eat."

Carly let out a tired sigh.  "Fine.  I'll have dinner with you."  And closed the door.

Ned smiled and headed to his room to get dressed and plan their dinner date.
"Date?  Was it really a date?" he wondered.

Alexis said the words so softly, Sonny wasn't sure he heard her correctly.  "Dead?" he repeated.

"Yes," Alexis said, confused by his sudden change in tone.  She expected him to be ranting and yelling about how terrible she was for leaving their son with Sorel after Cassandra's death but he wasn't.  In fact he looked almost ill.  "Are you okay?"

"How...what happened to her?"

"She killed herself."

"Oh God," Sonny whispered, burying his face in his trembling hands.

"What?" Alexis asked.

Sonny didn't answer her.  He was lost in his memories of her.  It all made sense.  The young woman he had met years ago in New York, with the adorable son, was one and the same.  He had met Cassandra and he never but it together until this very moment.  He could see her lovely face, her hazel eyes dancing with warmth.  She was always kind to him.

"Sonny?" Alexis called, worried about him now.

"I'm fine," he said, suddenly looking at her.  "Alexis, we have to tell Zander we're his parents or Sorel will destroy him!" Sonny said filled with a new purpose.

"No, Sonny we can't just show up in Zander's life like that!" Alexis admonished.

Sonny looked at her in shock.  "Alexis, don't you want to have Zander in our life?  Don't you want to know your son?"

The color drained from her face and her lip trembled.  She hurt beyond words that he, for one moment, thought she didn't want or love their son.

"How could you even ask that?" Alexis asked, wiping fresh tears from her eyes.

"What are you so afraid of?  Telling him the truth?"

"I'm afraid he'll hate me and never be able to forgive me!" Alexis screamed.

"Well you should have thought about that years ago," Sonny said before he could stop himself.

Alexis looked like she'd been slapped.  "I'm sorry!" she said backing away from him.

"God Alexis, I'm sorry..." Sonny tried.

"You meant it Sonny and it' the truth.  My only thought were about keeping Zander alive.  Nothing else mattered to me back then, besides his safety."

"Alexis..." Sonny tried again.

"I need to go," Alexis said, moving out of Sonny's reach once again.  She didn't want to feel his touch or love at the moment.  She didn't feel as though she deserved it.

"Don't leave like this.  Alexis, we still have a lot to discus."

"I think we both need some time alone to think.  Just please don't make a move without me.  I'll be right across the hall."  He watched her open the door.  She turned back to him before walking out.  "Just remember this is about our SON and only him.  Whatever went on between you and Sorel is another matter.  Please don't forget that."

"I won't," Sonny whispered after the door closed.  "But Sorel has a lot to answer for."

Flashback

Casey walked into the warehouse.  Several of the men stopped working to watch her, including him.  It wasn't everyday that they were treated to such beauty.

She was lovely.  Her light brown hair was pull back and her sundress hugged her body in all the right places, thanks in part to the heat.  She looked around until she found whom she was looking for.

She flashed him a warm smile as she approached him.  "Hi Michael."

"Hi Casey.  Joseph stepped out for a second.  He said to keep you company until he returned."

"That was mighty sweet of him," she said, looking at him from head to toe.

Michael knew that his bosses wife was flirting with him and getting involved with her could only get him killed.

"Iced tea?" he asked.

"Sure," she answered, as they walked into her husband's office.

"You and Joseph seem to be getting along.  I can't ever remember him moving someone up in the business so fast," Casey said, her hazel eyes dancing with curiosity.

He flashed his dimpled at her.  "Must be my charm."

Her brow raised in amusement at his choice of words.  Michael Corinthos had plenty of charm and definitely knew how to use it.

"I'm sure that's what it is.  It wouldn't have anything to do withthe fact that you like living dangerously," she whispered near his ear, as she purposely brushed against his body.

He swallow hard.  She was lovely, but she was also his bosses wife.  "Not that dangerously," he laughed, moving away from her.

"Oh I think I could change your ming about that," she said, before kissing him.

End of Flashback

Sonny shook his head at the memories of Casey Sorel.

"Oh God!" Zander said, looking down at Emily.  Her blouse was ripped.  He knew what had happened to her.

"Emily,"  He whispered her name gently, not wanting to scare her anymore than she already was.

"Please don't hurt me again," she pleaded, rocking herself as she lay in the fetal position.

"Emily, it's me Zander.  I'm not going to hurt you," he said gently, before kneeling down beside her.

She jumped in fear and starting screaming for help.  "NO!  Don't touch me!  Someone help me!"

Lucky and Elizabeth both heard Emily's cries for help.  "That's Em!" Lucky yelled, jumping up and running toward the sound of her screams.  Elizabeth was following close behind.

"Emily, please, I don't want to hurt you, I want to help you," Zander said, touching her arm.

"No!  No!" Emily screamed, trying to crawl away from him.

"GET AWAY FROM HER!" Lucky yelled, grabbing Zander by the shirt and hauling him away from Emily.

Zander was caught of guard and Lucky's fist made contract with his jaw.

"You bastard!" Lucky yelled.  When he saw Emily, he knew that she had been raped.

"Emily," Elizabeth said, kneeling down beside her friend.

"Please don't let him hurt me again," Emily begged.

"Shh, no one is going to hurt you.  You're safe now," Elizabeth assured her.  The night of her own rape flashed quickly through her mind but she had to stay focused.  Emily needed her.  But this was so close to where she was raped and it sent a chill down her spine.  Now Emily had lost her innocence.  Tears filled her eyes as she searchfor words.  But there were none that would comfort Emily.

"I didn't touch her!" Zander screamed as he defended himself from Lucky's unfair attack.

"You're a liar!" Lucky screamed.  "Elizabeth, call 911 and tell them what happened.

She nodded, finding her phone and dialing.
