Three Martinis Too Late

Toasting the door, she gave a smug smile before downing the vodka. With a close eye, she watched the door handle move and with a force she wasn't used to, flung the martini glass at it.

Whoever was on the other side of the door seemed to go away, for after what seemed like forever to her, she stopped looking at the door and went to clean up the remains of the glass.

With a quick gasp of air, she brought her hand up to inspect the cut from the sharp edge of glass. Casting it aside, she picked up the rest and threw it away.

Getting comfortable on the couch, she yawned and didn't look up when the door flung open. Only when the sound of heavy breathing was above her did she look up.

''So glad you made it home tonight,'' Alexis murmured calmly. ''Did you forget about our lunch date or was Carly too much of a distraction for you?''

''I wasn't with Carly,'' Sonny growled at her.

''Uh-huh.''

Looking around, he narrowed his eyes at the sight of two suitcases.

''Going somewhere?''

''Hmm?'' She looked at the suitcases too. ''Oh, yes, those. Always have to prepared, you know.''

Watching her stand, Sonny glared at her.

Walking towards the door, she was about to pick them up when she felt his hands on her.

Whipping around, she caught his gaze and held it, while yelling, ''Get the hell away from me!''

''No.''

Alexis struggled in his hold, but then held steady. ''You smug son of a bitch. Have women willingly falling at your feet. Guess what, you're three martinis too late for me, Sonny. This woman is too tired of waiting and falling and then getting up and brushing it off just to do it again tomorrow.''

''What are you talking about?''

''Oh, it's okay for you to go out and have the time of your life, but when I say that I want to have dinner with friends or something of the like, we have to make sure that it doesn't conflict with your schedule. That my friends some how add up to your expectations.'' Breaking one arm free, she tried prying the other off. ''Just get the hell away from me.''

''No,'' he growled. ''You're in no shape to be alone tonight.''

Alexis grinned. ''What? Where am I going to go, Sonny? I live right across the hall.''

Both his hands off her now, she backed away, only to have him in his embrace again; this time with more force.

She began to scream, which caught the attention of Francis outside. He opened the door slowly, swallowing hard and looking at his boss.

''Ev-Everything okay in here?''

''Just fine,'' Sonny seethed, trying to keep his hold on Alexis, who was screaming like a banshee and kicking and scratching at him to let her go.

''Boss...''

''Just LEAVE!'' Sonny yelled, forcefully bringing Alexis to the couch and throwing her down. When she tried to get up, he straddled her and pushed her hands above her head.

''Do it Sonny,'' she hissed. ''Take me here and now and don't think anything of it tomorrow morning.''

''What the hell is the matter with YOU!'' He screamed instead.

''Ned was right. I should have listened to him when he said that I shouldn't expect you to trust me. And then I had the idiocy to reply that I wouldn't cry or scream when you betrayed me.''

''When,'' he lowered his voice, ''When have I betrayed you Alexis? Today? What did I do that made you get drunk off your ass and scream like a banshee at me? Tell me NOW Alexis.''

''Screw you.''

''That's what we used to do.'' He loosened his hold on her, but stayed above her. ''Tell me Alexis what I did to you.''

Letting out a whimper, she bit her lip and looked over at the table.

''I'm not going to say it again.''

Tears came from her eyes, but she didn't respond to them. ''Am I just some sort of woman that you keep in your penthouse? When did I turn into Helena? I now know what she felt like when my father took out his mistresses to the parties while she stayed at home. Only, the good thing is is that I don't have lovers scattered all around the house.''

His eyes hardened.

She went on, ''I saw you today. I know that you're a flirt. That's one thing that I love about you. When you flirt with me, you make me feel young and beautiful.'' Alexis dug her nails into skin and smiled with satisfaction when he winced. ''I'm a jealous woman, Sonny. And I'm not like Carly. If she saw you with another woman, she'd take you back. That's not me. You want something new, go and get her.''

With one hand, he kept her wrists together, but with the other, he cupped her chin. ''Don't ever think that I don't want you. I'm divorcing Carly for you, I left the home of Angel for you. Both are younger than you, but they're not who I want.''

''What's her name then? Who is SHE Sonny?'' she shrieked, causing him to back up a little. ''Why were you with her instead of ME when we had a lunch date?''

Stroking her face, he whispered, ''She is a jeweler.''

''So?''

''I was buying you something,'' he told her and gripped her chin painfully. ''Now I'm not so sure I want to give it to you.''

Alexis shrugged. ''You're the one that bought it.''

''Don't you want to know what it is?''

Her look made him laugh.

Leaning down, he nuzzled her neck before murmuring into her ear, ''Matching earrings and choker.'' Saying this, he ran a finger over her throat, making her moan. ''Black pearls. The best for my girl. Always.'' Biting at her throat, he felt her buck her hips. ''You still my girl, Lexi? Hmm?  Or do you still want to leave, only to regret it?''

''Michael,'' she gasped as he began to unbutton her shirt.

''That's what I thought,'' he mumbled back with a smirk. Letting go of her wrists, his muffled laugh was heard against her stomach as she ran her fingers through his hair.

She screamed again, only this time of pleasure when he kissed her stomach while ripping off her shirt and leaving her there, chest heaving.

Flipping him to his back, she dug her fingernails into the back of his neck before kissing him, tongue over lips, impatient. Breathing heavily, she threw back her head as he kissed her chest and then the top of her breasts.

They tumbled to the floor in a mess of bodies and clothes, her on top of him and he unzipping her skirt. She stood and let it fall to the floor.

Standing with her, he brought her to him and whispered, ''I don't want to go to bed angry.''

''Who's angry,'' Alexis asked angrily. ''You could have let me left. Just let me walk out that door and never let me back in.''
''This was a test?''

''If you want to think of it that way, yes.'' She moaned as he ran a hand over her breasts. ''I want you Michael. Nothing in life compares to being by side. But leave me, and I will hunt you down.''

Nipping at her chin, he nodded. ''Wouldn't dream of Natasha. I can't leave you. You're in my heart and I'm in yours.'' He kissed above her left breast for emphasis.

Breath quickening, she pulled his head to down to kiss him. ''Here or there?'' she groaned and felt herself being lifted.

''There.''
