SOME BIRD IDENTIFICATION TIPS:

-nuthatches: are the only north american birds that walk DOWN a tree.
they exclusively walk downward on a tree, unlike other birds that may
only walk up or those that always face upward while going up and down trees
(like woodpeckers). the two common species are the white breasted
nuthatch and the red breasted. the white breasted nuthatch, as its name
implies, has a white breast, and is gray in most other areas accept on the
top of the head where there is some black.
