The dragon is a very diverse beast.  Some within the valley are able to transform from human form to that of a dragon. There are also several half-breeds which roam the mountains, escaping the ridicule of the others.  Normally a half-breed dragon will be shunned by both sides of it's family just because

dragons are not always considered the animals that they are.  They have been known in the past as the fierce fire breathing beasts which destroyed crops and villages, though most of it was myth.  Dragons though, like humans, are not all good.  Some do hunt other species in spite or revenge.  But there are several species who try to regain the peaceful nature that they tend to be.  The dragon is one of the oldest mythological creatures, being associated with the people back in the beginnings of time.  The dragon's existance has been closely associated with the Great Mother, the warrior sun god and a water god.  They have both beneficial and destructive tendancies which related them closely with the Egyptian gods, Osiris and Set.  The dragons powers arose from its particular control over the waters and the earth.  They were considered to have lived at the bottom of the ocean, guarding ancient treasures and eventually were considered to be apart of the skies,  The dark clouds and thunder of a storm were thought to be the dragons hearth.  The dragon is a graceful beast with many histories and origins in several different parts of the world.
