A lycanthrope or shapeshifter all belong to the forest as well.  There are several kinds which thrive in the forest of the Valley.  Werecats, wererats, werewolves and so on.  Each with their own unique look they can transform from their human state to their magical half animalistic features.  Some can only shift halfway and still look somewhat human.  Others will shift completely like some of the werewolves in the forest.  Though the ones who can shift completely are usually a big larger than a normal wolf or tiger etc. These creatures don't usually roam in packs.  They are individual hunters who crave solitude and avoid contact with most others of their kind.  Though when they do wish to mingle they will without malice.  Very rare will the wereanimals lure an unsuspecting victim in with charms only to attack.  These creatures are animalistic and savage when they want to be and should be approached with caution.  One sign of a threat and they may act against you.
