Vampires have been in mythology for many many years under several different names.  Such as in Greece who had many vampirelike creatures that were called the lamiai/empusai/mormolykiai or even the strige, a vampire witch.  In Poland there were vampires who lived normal lives, but they were noted for their hyperactive personality and red face.  Each country seemed to have some sort of form of vampire in their legends. The first recorded supposed vampire in history was a Russian Prince (upir) and later there was the infamous Vlad the Impaler and Elizabeth Bathory.  They continue to haunt the imagination.  Within the Valley of Immortals they reside within the forest which protects them from sunlight in some areas as the trees are so thick that hardly any light would shine through.  They are also located in the swamp, where darkness always resides day or night.  Depending on their nature they choose where they live.
