John Lofgren and wife Cessla Person Lofgren

John Lofgren -Born November 7, 1835 in Finja socken, Kristianstads lan, Skane, Sweden -came to Afton in 1869 about six months before his wife and twin daughters came   -They settled in the northwestern part of the township.  In 1873 they bought a farm near Afton village.  It was their home that the final action in the organization of the Swedish Lutheran Congregation took place in 1882.  -died April 28, 1911

Cessla Person Lofgren -born June 16, 1839 in Bronestad, Kristianstads lan, Skane -died August 26, 1892

*Nellie Lofgren married John Peterson and had eight children: Pauline, Emma, John, Albert***, Sidney, Ervin, Elmer, and Hiram.

**William Lofgren married Ida Hablutzel in 1908 and they had three children: William, Randolph, and Lawrence.

***Albert married Esther Swanson in 1911 and they had four children: Katherine, Marion, Floyd, and Marjorie.

****Martin Lofgren married Mathilda Swanson and they had one daughter, LaVina.
