About the Contest? Design a poster that shows the purpose of Arbor Day

What is Arbor Day? A special day set aside dedicated to Tree Planting and increasing awareness of the importance of trees. For more information go to www.arborday.org

When is Arbor Day? April 24th, 2009

Poster Guidelines Standard size posters (22 X 26) Use of any desired medium (Marker, Water Color, Paint, etc.) Be creative and unique! Write your name on back side of poster and not on front.

WHO CAN SUBMT A POSTER? The contest is divided into 3 Grade Groups K - 4th 5th – 8th 9th – 12th

When to submit your Poster entries? Friday, April 24th, 2009 (Arbor Day) To: Kris Wood (VVHS Art Teacher)

Judging will be conducted on Monday, April 27th.  Winners will be announced on Tuesday, April 28th.

THE PRIZE FOR THE WINNERS? A Pecan Tree (Texas State Tree) planted in your honor and the winners name will be engraved on a memorial brick to be placed on the new town square.
