KEEP TEXAS BEAUTIFUL ANNUAL TRASH-OFF

Don't Mess with Texas Trash-Off Saturday, April 4, 2009 The Don't Mess with Texas Trash-Off is the single largest one day cleanup event in the state and serves as Texas’ signature event for the Great American Cleanup, the nation's largest community improvement program, held annually from March 1 through May 31. In 2008, more than 57,000 volunteers picked up 5 million pounds of litter to help keep our state beautiful. The Don't Mess with Texas Trash-Off is part of the partnership between Keep Texas Beautiful and the Texas Department of Transportation.  Participants can receive trash bags, volunteer giveaways, promotional items, and more.

A big THANK YOU to the City of Valley View who provided 2 large trash trucks from WASTE MANAGEMENT for Valley View residents to rid their property of refuse.

Probably the worst unsightly area within the city limits was the north side of the railroad tracks crossing FM 922.   A big THANK YOU goes to these ladies, Terry Wilhite, Perlene Newton, Anita Thayer, Gail Roane and Natalie Massengale.

After the trash off many of us went to eat at Big Fatty's.  Parked there was a interesting antique police car and wished to share these pictues.
