Dear Neighbors,
Keep Valley View Beautiful
won the 2006 Governor’s Community Achievement Award of $60,000.00.
The KVVB committee selected to use this money for the rebuilding of the
town square scheduled to begin construction in February, 2008.
Keep Valley View Beautiful
would like to invite you to help with the building of a pavilion on our new town square. The 20’ X 30’ concrete platform will be paid
for by using a part of the $60,000 award we received. The award money could not be used to pay for the
pavilion. We need funds to build the pavilion. As a fund-raiser for the pavilion project we
will be selling bricks for $50.00 each that can be inscribed to honor your
family whether it be those living now or the memory of loved ones who have passed
on. These bricks will be laid in the
appropriate areas on the new square. From
a historical viewpoint, the recording of families by name upon these bricks
will provide a wonderful and vital record for everyone to enjoy now and in the
years to come.
We
will have a designated settlers area where the newly arrived Historical Marker
will be located along with the inscribed bricks for families that were in the
Valley View area 1900 and before. All
other inscribed bricks will be placed along a sidewalk. There
is a diagram of the square plan shown on the Valley View History Website:
Please
join us as we experience together exciting times in the life of our
community. If you have any questions at all,
please do not hesitate calling or e-mailing any KVVB member.
Best
regards,
Andy
