Bright and early, the cops are on the scene of a quiet neighborhood home. Outside in the back yard is where the CSI unit starts off. "who phoned this in, Potrue?" the detective asked one of his coworkers. "the girl's bus driver, believe it or not. He said that he has to make sure the girl gets to school because there have been threats here before." "find that culprite. He's possible perpetrator number one." "yes sir." Potrue went off to take that lead while another from the team walks up. "Sir, you're gonna love this." "what is it, Hawkins?" "No fingerprints anywhere not belonging to the family or the busdriver." "Damn. And it doesn't look like the crime scene was wiped down?" "No sir. However there is blood everywhere and we do have bloody footprints everywhere." Hawkins points to the grass and sure enough there are bloody footprints leading to the gate. "do those footprints lead outside the fence?" "for a few steps but they lead to a long stretch of sidewalk." "did you do a blood test there?" "in the increments the footsteps were in, but…nothing." "what did he do?! Take his shoes off?!" another female coworker came out from the house and reported, "sir, you wouldn't believe how much blood is in there…" "and not a fingerprint, Calaway??!" "no… not from the culprite, but there are from the occupants. It appears that there was a big struggle…" she leads her commander in and shows him the scene. "My god!!" Hawkins comments, "man must have bled them dry and redecorated for them…" Another officer comes in looking for the detective, "what have you got Gerome?" "Alister, it appears that the suspect came after them in their sleep, but he purposely woke them up to kill them." "this country…"Alister shook his head gravely. "What's wrong with this country now-a-days?!" Gerome continues, "he wanted them to struggle. However, he killed the husband rather quickly and then moved to the wife on the otherside as she woke up and sat up. We'll get a report on her condition later, but it seems that he had a bit of fun beating her before finally killing her." "and the kid?" "that's the scariest part. Apparently, her jugular was cut, from a preliminary point and her blood never touched the ground…" "taken? What sort of sick freak…" "well that's what appears to have happened…but in the bedroom, how can you drain someone without making a mess, without the propper equipment?" Hawkins answered, "you can't!" "people. Let's figure out exactly what happened here." Gerome challenged. He was about to walk out of the crime scene when something caught his attention. He bent down to open a partially open drawer with a gloved hand. Inside was a picture of the parents, the little girl as a baby and…an older daughter! "Peters?" another man coworker came up to his superior. "yes?" "find out who this is." He pointed to the unknown girl. "yes sir." It's a dark night; the thick cloud cover during the late autum night sky occasionally let the moon glow through, highlighting shadows as one walks across the lawn. Like a shadow of death it enters the back yard silently and stealthily. The dog perks his head up and whines. It then gets up and is unsure about what it is in his yard. The shadow comes close to rip the animal's throat out without a sound then proceeds to the back door and slips under the doorjam. It reforms on the other side, the shined shoes make no sound on the impact on the linolium floor nor the wood one as it makes it's way up the stairs and into the parent's bedroom. 11pm some week later a young woman was getting readsy to go to bed when she went to close her shade and saw a face looking abck at her. She screamed and tried running, but the shadow griped her and made her open the window so he could enter. He then threw her to the bed and leapt on top |
