A few years later, Misgard had gained a notorius reputation in Norway. Their shows were "one of a kind, theatrical in the macarbe sense" said one critic. Viranka, Nigel, and the rest of the band painted their faces up in black and white designs. Viranka favored black and red. On stage she would wear an old style wedding dress. Throughout the duration of the show, the dress would get covered in fake blood; so would the first few rows of the audience. Their music was dark, but strangely melodic. The lyrics focused on vampires, and Norse gods of the old. Viranka became especially feverant when onstage. She was so passionate about her music that she would literally become the people she sung about. This passion for madness is what attracted the attention of Shagrath. He had heard of Misgard from people talking about them in the bar he frequented. What caught his attention were the descriptions of the female guitarist/vocalist of the band. So he went to show after show, listening to her, studying her. Analyzing her every action in his crazed mind. Yes, yes she was the one. She was perfect, divine, it would have to be her.
So he began following the band, getting backstage when he could; always offering Viranka some small, strange gift. Like one night he gave her a bag of plastic spider rings. Another night, she found a dozen black roses in her dressing room. After a few months of this, she finally stopped him one night before he could scurry away. She asked him to join her in an after hours party the band would be attending. Shagrath agreed and went with her. He was glad he did. When they arrived at the club where the party was beng held, he sensed immediately that others like him were there. It seemed that the Degenerates of his society decided that Misgard was worthy of their attention. Fortunately they were younger than he was, and when they seen him enter with an arm around Viranka, they backed off. Bitterly, but backed off none the less.
Shagrath decided he couldn't wait any longer. If he didn't give her the Kiss soon, one of the Torrie's surely would. He couldn't let that happen. When Viranka asked him to return to her hotel room with her, he almost literally jumped at the oppertunity. Viranka had been drinking heavily at the party and was quite intoxicated. This worked out to Shagrath's advantage. She had been more than flirtatious with him all night. While holding her close and kissing her neck, he murmered soft words into her ear, heightening her feelings off lust. She kissed him in a passionate frenzy, then gently bit at his neck. He gently, but firmly pulled her head back by her hair and nibbled up her neck, producing soft purrs from her. Then he quickly bit down and began draining her. She growled loudly, but soon the extacy of the Kiss bit her and she collapsed into him, softly moaning. He drank until he could feel her heartbeat weaken. She was barely conscious at this point. He released her, then pulled her on top of him while he took a razor blade and sliced his neck open, pushing her face down towards the gash. Viranka's instinct alone kicked in and she lapped at the blood. As soon as his blood entered her veins she regained full conciousness and drank deeply. So deeply he had to shove her off of him before he became too weak himself.
Viranka slumped back and blinked at him. "What have you done?" she muttered before passing out again. Shagrath sat there and watched her a long while, trying to decide if he should just leave her for now. Or take her now. She would be most adament about finishing the concert tour Misgard was on. This he knew. He also knew that the first week of her unlife would be the hardest. Indeed it would determine if she would continue living, or she would suffer final death. Yes better to take her. Shagrath picked Viranka up and slipped out of her window and down the fire escape to the street below. He quietly made his way back to the hotel he was staying at about a 1/4 mile away. He under took the proper precautions, and laid Viranka beside him to rest for the day. And so was the date of her second birth, April 15th, the year 1984. |
