2006 Match Play Championship Tournament

Registration

1. Tournament players will be limited to the first 32 registered VB Golf Club members

2. Registration deadline: April 30, 2006 (if less than 32 players register, first round byes will be determined based on a random draw). Tournament play will begin in June.

3. $10 entry fee will be collected from each participant with pro shop certificates awarded to the top eight players (green/cart fees are the responsibility of the players).

Rules

1. Each match in the tournament will be a one-on-one competition using VB Tournament Handicaps in match play format. Winners of each match will continue on to the next round.

2. Each player will be assigned a match play number based on a random draw. This number will be used to determine the bracket, seeding and opponents for all rounds.

3. Each round will have a pre-assigned completion date. Players are responsible for scheduling and completing their own matches by this end date. If a match has not been contested, a forced match will take place at 2:00pm on the end date. If a competitor does not show up for the forced match, they will be considered the loser of the match. If both players don’t show, both will be eliminated resulting in a next round bye.

4. If both players agree, a match may be contested as a 9-hole match instead of 18 to accommodate scheduling issues.

5. In the case of a match tie, a sudden-death match will continue starting on hole #1 using the same rules.

Van Buskirk Tournament Handicaps

1. VB Tournament Indexes are calculated using individual VB tournament scores over the last 12 months. The lowest 50% scores are averaged to compute this index. The lower of the VB Tournament Index or NCGA Index is used for VB tournaments.
