Thanks for visiting our humble little spot in cyberspace.
Only hand crafted, quality products are on offer in their shop. The products are made by Belgium's highly respected craftspeople located in Hendrik and Hildes' home town Bruges.
Their concept is unique and untested anywhere outside Europe.
The Belgian chocolates available outside Europe are made of an "export quality" (a compromise product, designed to travel well, containing a much longer shelf live)
But Hendrik and Hide's philosophy was, and still is, to offer the real thing as fresh as if you'd purchased the chocolates yourself in Bruges. This unique approach, was not unnoticed by Australia's food editors. Within months after they started, The Herald's Good living wrote "When you visit them as you must, and sink your teeth into their pralines, as you must, your mouth explodes with a sensual shock, you will not forget the experience. In those four and a halve years, Vanderwee's approach has been praised in most of Sydney's food and lifestyle magazines.
In July 1999 they moved to Skygarden and are now preparing to celebrate their 5th anniversary with the introduction of an extended variety of delicious chocolates at Christmas.

In the past decade, an extraordinary resurgence has taken place in Belgium, which has seen a veritable Renaissance and reawakening of interest amongst the younger Artisans and women to return to the authentic traditions and classic artisanal methods and techniques of true hand-made chocolates.
Bruges, where the VANDERWEE Chocolates are made, is a picturesque mediaeval city, close to the Channel between Belgium and England.
It became home of many gifted chocolate makers, who produce chocolates to mouth-watering standards of quality and stupendous varieties of fillings and shapes. A cornucopia from heaven!

They are commissioned by, and made to, VANDERWEE'S own demanding specifications.
Our Chocolates are air freighted from Bruges Belgium every 3 weeks.
