| Sport-Tourer: Imagine a sport bike with hard bags, and there you have it. Sport-tourers have larger windscreens, (Supposed to have) more comfortable seats, and again have their engines geared for mid-range performance. These are bikes for touring(Duh) and also ripping into corners. Their suspension is comparable to the sports bikes, and as well, so is the instrument panel. The gas tank is usually a little bigger than the sports bikes, to accomodate longer time on the road, not at the pump. Triumph, BMW, Aprillia, Kawasaki, Honda, Ducati, Aprillia, Suzuki (Kind of) all offer varying types of Sport-tourers. Bear in mind that not all manufacturers are available where you may live. For instance, in Canada, you can't get Aprillia bikes anywhere in Canada. The nearest dealer is in Florida. That sucks, considering that their two top bikes; The Mille (Sport bike) and The Futura (Sport-Tourer) are some of the best in their class. Also, if you live the Kitchener-Waterloo area, the nearest dealer for Triumph is in Hamilton, an hour away. Not good if your bike is broken, and you don't have a way of getting it the shop where you bought it(Good thing to do, as they know the most about the bike). You wouldn't take your Suzuki GSX-R 1000 to your local H-D shop, would you? Here are some links to bike manufacturers that might of some help for you. I could name all the bikes for each category, but I do have a life outside of writing web pages. Aprillia BMW Buell MV Agusta Ducati Harley-Davidson Honda Kawasaki KTM Moto Guzzi MuZ Suzuki Victory Triumph Yamaha If you want some current rates in yankee dollars, visit www.motorcycleworld.com. They have almost all the latest bikes, and also include some good wallpapers to put on your computer and admire when your not out riding. So I hope this helps all you guys and gals in deciding what that next bike is going to be. And remember, aftermarket parts are just as readily available for bikes, as they are for cars.
