Second Chances by: VanessaSky discliamer: Joss Whedon lucky bastard summary: The sins commited of a past, present, and future. feedback: please please let me know what you think. He pulled her to him as she walked by. He sat her down on his lap, and began to nuzzle her neck. He put her legs on the outside of his so she was wide open to his advances. She wasn't sure how she had gotten into this predicament. Somewhere in-between Riley leaving, and her addiction with Spike she stopped caring what other people thought. And somewhere in-between Spike's attempted rape, and his return she stopped caring at all. Angelus understood somehow. Sure he was angry with Spike, who wouldn't be. And he was plenty angry with Buffy for even looking at Spike in that way. But he saw she needed him to be whatever she needed him to be, and he became that for her. Maybe the soul had tainted him. It had been awhile since he was last free, or maybe it was he had finally gotten around the whole humanity thing, and realized he did love her. It was a confusing part of logic in his mind that he didn't entertain too often. And when he did it only surficed to give him a headache. He told himself he should get back to his fingers rhythmically pounding in and out of her, but he couldn't help but remember the road that led him to having his mate writhing on top of him. After he had finished getting the sun back in LA, he immediately grabbed a car, and headed for Sunnydale. Spike's vampiric law breaking had not been lost on him, and Spike's torturous death at his hands was in the top 3 of his list of things to do. But when he saw Buffy one night patrolling, and almost getting herself killed, he knew it was maybe worse than he thought. When she saw him she ran. Buffy Summers or even Buffy the Vampire Slayer would not have ran from him. Didn't matter if he was the soul or not. He followed her and found her in the great hall curled into a ball on the floor. It was quite a sight. Then he smelled Spike's cum inside her. Could smell his scent all over her. |

He could smell her fear. Gently approaching her, and not wanting to scare her off, he picked her up and carried her to bed. Once there he covered her up, and told her to sleep. She would tell him what happened in due time, and his punishment could wait until then. He didn't have to wait long. On the third night she woke up screaming, and grabbing for him. "I thought you weren't real," she would tell me. "I thought I only dreamed that you where here to keep me safe." That continued on for almost three weeks. Then one night she never woke up. She slept the whole night through, and only woke up when I woke her up. That was the day she told me about Spike. She tried to explain herself to me. As if she where a child who had gotten her hand caught in the cookie jar, and I was the mother asking why she hadn't obeyed me. I understood her need. Hell, what did I fuck Darla for. I understood the pull, and the need to feel anything but the cold existence you where stuck in. And it was soul boy's fault too. "You have a second chance here Buffy, you'll be ok." The tearful reunion that should have reunited them was his way of excusing himself for having any feeling at all for Cordelia. So he left her in a sense again, and she rebelled. Spike was the distraction she had been looking for, and I would not fault her for believing that he did love her. Being fawned over and treated precious when you where brought back to a place where the only thing you had to do was what was expected of you, was a welcome breath of fresh live air she never thought she would taste again. But in the end Spike tried to prove his love in a most damning way. Rape was something even I never would have tried much less done to her. Hey, I may have wanted to kill her, but I did respect her as the Soul had. |

She was strong but you could see the line that was towed to make sure she kept everyone happy. That was too long ago to remember the past, and the only present reminder was the fact that she turned Giles, and Willow. Xander died to early on to be of any use, and Buffy never wanted Angelus to tell her where he buried Dawn's body. Spike had come back all soul having and as evil as Willow was when she was human it never compared to the things she did as a demon. Spike became her puppy, and she played with him quite often. When Faith was broken out of prison to bring some order to the true hell that Sunnydale had become, she shocked a lot of people and came and knocked on our door. She was led in by a minion, and when Buffy came within site she simply knelt to her knees, and asked her to make it quick. Buffy may have been one of the first turned Slayers in over a good hundred years. But Faith brought up the close second. |
