Welcome to the Vanguard Amateur Observatory web page. This private observatory has been in operation since the fall of 1999. It is located in the town of Oromocto NB,  surrounded by the cities of Fredericton (15 Km), Moncton (120 Km) and Saint John (90 Km). These cities are relatively small, so the night sky remains for the most part light pollution free.  The building is a 12' x 12' split roll-off roof design. A permanent pier mounts the main instrument, a Meade 12" LX200 robotic telescope.
A member of the BRYDON JACK Astronomy Club, University of New Brunswick, Fredericton Canada.
